Frequently Asked Questions

I have cctv, multiple cameras everywhere, alarms....why do I need a good physical security point also? Unfortunately alarms are more of noise polution, and make people annoyed instead of alarmed, because too many of them goes off by cleaners, nannies, children, etc. Instead of running to the phone or looking around we just say "Turn it off, man!". Cameras are easily done by masks, that cover the robber from identification. You need to go both ways, have physical as well as electronic security which is the back up for the physical security. I want keyless entry. According to the manufacturer they are good protection.

Robbers are smart. Unfortunately there are ways to find the pincode, such as thermal sensors that can detect the heat of the finger which just entered the pincode. Keyless entry can never replace the old fashioned security access, such as the Gordius® shield does.

But my door has brand-new, multi-point lock, according to the manufacturer it is burglarproof, now what? Do I need a barricade bar?

Well ... It depends. There are many doors nowadays that lock on multiple points. There is the fashionable and popular plastic door, that locks on five points, or with several locks, or the same made of timber, usually made from pine wood finish. Unfortunately they are a little protection, a flexible plastic structure quickly gives in to physical force. These doors are not security doors,
Good solution is the robust steel door structure, with steel frame, bottom, top, and the two sides, with strong locking pins in the lock casing.

Single or french doors - horizontal, vertical or cross barricade bar. What does barricade bar protects against, why is not enough if you have more than one traditional lock on the door?

Conventional bolt locks do not protect against physical force, kicking, or slim jim .
Surprisingly these simple locks, one or more of it, with a bit of kicking will give in. Your lock can be a high-tech wonder with drill, etching, acid and glue -resistant cylinder if the door can be forced in with a kick. The burglar does not even have to look at it.

The Barricade bar is a cheaper alternative to a security door. The way the barricade bar works is that the lock projects two bars into the wall or into a counter part fixed into the wall thereby providing protection against physically forcing the door in. These bars projected through the counter parts fixed into the wall can not be forced easily even by the most determined burglars. To break off the bar or the wall it needs to be banged long and persistently, preferably by several people at once.
